Internal Medicine

Welcome to the Trinity Health Internal Medicine Residency Program

The Trinity Health Internal Medicine Residency Program has pride itself on the training of physicians competent in practicing adult medicine who have also developed special skills necessary to practice in the current and emerging practice environment, including knowledge of population-based care, quality measurement and improvement, information management and technology, and teamwork and collaboration.

Our core training in Internal Medicine prepares our graduates well for careers in primary care, hospital medicine, administration, and subspecialty fellowship. Our program's high points include:

  • Training in all aspects of adult medicine by a core faculty of general who are also all practicing physicians. Outpatient clinics are both hospital and community-based and include the Eastern Michigan University student health service. Subspecialists complement and are actively involved in all aspects of training.
  • Very strong hands-on MICU experience, which starts in the first year
  • Inpatient ward services supervised by academic hospitalists.
  • An exciting and unique clinical research and QI program for our residents.
  • Opportunities for developing an Individualized Career Path (ICP), including a Primary Care Pathway

Our Mission: To care for and learn from our patients and community.

Our Vision: "We are dedicated to providing state of the art medicine and empowering residents and faculty through education, mentoring and the promotion of leadership to better serve our community."
