BETTER BREATHERS CLUB MOVES TO NEW LOCATION

Port Huron, MI…Designed to provide a number of significant service improvements, St. Joseph Mercy Port Huron is pleased to announce that its Better Breathers Club (BBC) has moved to a new location on the hospital campus. Within the new facility, members will experience enhanced parking; easier access; a dedicated, larger and more spacious facility allowing for improved layout of equipment and flow; combined locker/restroom; main level area featuring windows and natural lighting; and a private entrance.

"Our previous location was less than ideal in meeting the needs of the programs and services being offered," comments Erica Gurley, RRT, Manager of Respiratory Therapy and BBC Program Coordinator at St. Joseph Mercy. "Over the past several months, we have been looking for a new location to better serve the members' needs.”

The BBC at St. Joseph Mercy is now located at 2611 Electric Avenue, Suite E, in the office complex to the southwest of the hospital's main parking area and entrance.

To highlight the move and celebrate the new location, the BBC will host a general Open House Thursday, July 18, from 9 a.m. to noon; and again from 1 to 4 p.m. The Open House is designed to introduce the new facility to members as well as the community.

More than 35 million adults in the United States have debilitating lung disease such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), asthma and pulmonary fibrosis. Although these chronic conditions do not have a cure, information and education outlining how to manage living with lung disease, and maintaining the best quality of life is available through the BBC.

St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, in conjunction with the American Lung Association, is committed to being a leader in the community for lung health education and disease prevention and launched the Better Breathers Club to meet the needs of the community.
