ST. JOSEPH MERCY OAKLAND TO CONDUCT PERINATAL LOSS SERVICE
Women Who Have Lost Babies in Pregnancy or After Giving Birth Invited
Pontiac, Mich.-St. Joseph Mercy Oakland (SJMO) will conduct a Perinatal Loss Memorial Service at 7 p.m. Thursday, June 9, 2011, in the hospital chapel, 44405 Woodward Ave., Pontiac.
Women who have suffered the death of a baby during pregnancy or shortly after giving birth are welcome.
The program includes a film about dealing with grief. Reflections will be given by Leslie Upham, RN, who facilitates monthly support groups on perinatal loss. Assisting with the service will be SJMO Chaplain Linda Thompson. There also will be a special candle-lighting ceremony.
Refreshments will be served following the service. Reservations are required by June 3.
