Cardiac Catheterization Lab

St. Mary Mercy Hospital is the first hospital in Southeast Michigan to provide Primary Percutaneous Coronary Intervention (PPCI) as a non-open heart facility.

Our interventional cardiologists were named among the Top 100 doctors by Hour Detroit Magazine and individually perform more than 1,000 procedures per year.

Our PPCI program offers emergency angioplasty 24/7 with strong performance in patient safety and outcomes. We participate in the ACC National Data Registry and the Blue Cross/Blue Shield of Michigan Cardiovascular Consortium (BMC2) data registry and benchmark to the ACC door-to-balloon time guidelines.

Technology: Our state-of-the-art interventional labs are equipped with Siemens Axiom Artis-DFC and the Leonardo 3-D imaging systems. The systems provide excellent resolution digital imaging with the technical capability of subtraction, magnification, road mapping and orthogonal angulations and 3-D reconstruction of images.

A GE physiologic monitoring system monitors pre- and post-procedure patients in the 12-bed recovery area. The system includes full disclosure digital recording with central and hemodynamic and cardiac rhythm monitoring. Full physiologic monitoring is achieved through the WITT Hemodynamic System. The McKesson Horizon Cardiology CPACS system supports imaging, reporting and record archival functions.
