Cultivating trust and improved services through candor and sincerity – that’s one way to describe the Patient Family Advisory Council, a group formed in June 2010 by St. Mary Mercy. The premise of the group is to give patients and family members a stronger voice in how medical services are delivered – to help us help you even better.
“We don’t just make up what we think the patients at St. Mary Mercy need, we value their input,” said Carrie Hays McElroy, Service Line Administrator for Senior Services at St. Mary Mercy. “We are patient and family-centered. That is the core of our values-centered mission.”
People served at St. Mary Mercy who might not have had a great experience also have become part of the Patient Family Advisory Council. The group meets once per month. Members can rotate in and out over time to expand new perspectives, providing comments to the staff on potential improvements, what St. Mary Mercy does well and what needs changed.
If you’d like to join this council we invite current seniors, past and current patients and their family members, or just general interest members of the community that wish to see their local hospital thrive through outstanding patient service.
To apply, please fill out the Patient/Family Advisory Council Application and email it to either Laura Gutierrez (734-655-2902) or Carrie Hays McElroy (734-655-1706).
