Hospital Auction Raising Funds for Cancer Treatment|
CHELSEA, MI – Chelsea Community Hospital is planning a “Big Ten Tailgate” this Spring, and the community is invited to join in the fun for a great cause.
The 26th Annual CCH Spring Auction promises a night of fun and excitement, with proceeds funding the purchase of a linear accelerator. Part of the Hospital’s long-term goal to build a comprehensive cancer center, the linear accelerator will provide radiation therapy for cancer patients at CCH.
The Auction will be held on Saturday, May 14, at the UA 190 – IBEW 252 Hall, 7920 Jackson Road. The silent auction, raffle, strolling buffet, and dessert bar will begin at 6:30 pm, followed by the exciting Live Auction at 8:30 pm, conducted by Auctioneer Steve Gross.
Guests are invited to dress up in their favorite Big Ten team attire and enjoy the sports-themed décor and refreshments, including a strolling buffet and a variety of delicious desserts. Prizes for best man and women’s costume will be awarded. This year’s auction is chaired by Kathy and Lou Magagna, M.D. and co-chaired by Johnny and Cindy Mitchell. Honorary Chairs for the event are Jim Woods and Sharon Hubbard.
“We always look forward to the Auction because it’s a fun, high energy event,” says Judy Stratman, Director of Marketing and Development. “I enjoy seeing so many familiar faces, as well as new ones, all coming together for a great cause. It’s really a testament to the great community that we serve.”
Stratman emphasized that all the money raised in Chelsea stays in Chelsea. “We want the community to know that their donations benefit their community. All the money raised at this Auction will go directly to Chelsea’s linear accelerator.”
Many local community members and businesses have generously donated items for the event. Live auction highlights include trips to New York City, Cancun, Chicago and Mackinaw Island; a Citrine and Diamond Necklace from LaJolla Fine Jewelry, an Apple iPad, and a Progressive Dinner with Limo. Silent auction and raffle highlights include an XBox Kinect, a Barton Hills Golf Package, U of M Football tickets, Tiger tickets, restaurant gift certificates, and much more.
