The program stresses training in Internal Medicine, providing a five-month experience in Internal Medicine including one month in the Intensive Care Unit, and a one-month outpatient general medicine experience. Transitional interns also rotate through one month of Emergency Medicine and one month of Specialty Surgery. Transitional house officers have 3.5 months to devote to the electives of their choice, depending on their goals and future residency. Elective choices include a high variety of internal medicine and surgical subspecialties, dermatology, ophthalmology, anesthesia, PM&R, Radiology, pathology, radiation oncology and interventional.
