Robin Damschroder named Chief Operating Officer of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor & Livingston

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – (SEPT. 10, 2013) – Robin Damschroder has been appointed chief operating officer over two hospitals within the Saint Joseph Mercy Health System (SJMHS), effective Oct. 1. She will be directing day-to-day operational activities and clinical service line management of 536-bed St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor and 136-bed St. Joseph Mercy Livingston.

Robin comes to SJMHS from the University of Michigan Health System (UMHS) where she most recently served as associate hospital director of clinical services and operations. In this capacity, she helped lead joint ventures and collaborations between UMHS and SJMHS, including the new Acute Care for Elders (ACE) unit and the expansion of family medicine inpatient service at Chelsea Community Hospital.

Her career experience encompasses more than 21 years of health care leadership in operations, finance and business development, including seven years at St. Joe’s as its chief development officer (2003-2007) and controller (2000-2003).

“Robin Damschroder is a seasoned leader who is known to deliver results,” said Rob Casalou, president and CEO of St. Joseph Mercy Ann Arbor and Livingston. “Robin’s familiarity with St. Joe’s medical staff and community – grounded in our mission, vision and values – will enable her to hit the ground running and support the change and integration efforts ahead.”

She earned her bachelor’s degree, CPA and Master in Health Services Administration (MHSA) from the University of Michigan. An active leader of the community, Robin is a member of the UM Washtenaw County Development Council, co-chair of the 2013 Red Cross Ball, a member of the Arbor Hospice Foundation Board and Executive Committee, and a Peace Neighborhood Center volunteer.
